Thank You for an Illuminating Experience

This week, thousands of attendees from across Pharmacy, Nursing, Finance, IT, and Leadership joined Omnicell and their peers for Omnicell Illuminate 2020 – the biggest digital event for technology-driven pharmacy supply chain.

Featuring three days of education, networking, best practice sharing, interactive demos, and engaging keynotes, Omnicell Illuminate 2020 was our opportunity to bring the industry together to focus on a singular goal: achieving zero-error medication management.

More than 50 industry experts from leading health systems, including Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Texas Children’s Hospital, Stanford, UCSF, TidalHealth, and Massachusetts General, led over 20 sessions exploring the most pressing issues in medication management – controlled substance management, IV safety and accuracy, 340B compliance, data-driven supply chain, and change management.    

A compelling keynote by Randall Lipps, Chairman, President, CEO, and Founder of Omnicell, depicted “The Hardest Day” – a powerful “what-if” scenario based on a “day in the life” of a modern pharmacy leader tasked with dealing with an impending healthcare crisis in her local community.

Guest speaker Carey Lohrenz, the first female F-14 Tomcat fighter pilot in the U.S. Navy, taught us the power of overcoming our fears and having the courage to “fail forward” in her keynote presentation “Turning High Risk Into High Reward.”

EVP and Chief Commercial Officer, Scott Seidelmann, showcased the latest innovations in Omnicell’s Winter 2020 Release and how enhancements in automation, intelligence, and technology-enabled services are driving improved safety, reducing costs, and supporting better outcomes. He was joined by Chief Customer Officer, Denise Cox, along with SVP and Chief Growth Officer, Jeff Schlossnagle, to underscore the importance of being a trusted partner in the medication management journey and Omnicell’s commitment to meeting strategic goals.

Between sessions, attendees explored our Innovation Lounge to take a deeper dive into the features and benefits of Omnicell’s solution portfolio. And we even carved out a little time for Wellness, with meditation, yoga, and smoothie breaks.

Omnicell Illuminate gave us the opportunity to strengthen relationships by understanding shared experiences, learning best practices, and engaging in workshops to evolve medication management strategies to advance toward the ultimate goal – the zero-error pharmacy.

This event was conceptualized and executed in only 10 weeks, so I owe a big debt of gratitude to everyone for the collaborative effort in making Omnicell Illuminate 2020 a success! It’s an exciting time to be here at Omnicell – and we’re delighted and honored to be your partner in the journey to the Autonomous Pharmacy. We hope everyone had an, ahem, illuminating week, and can’t wait to see you all again next year!
