Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center Adopting In-House IV Compounding with Omnicell's IV Robotics

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Feb. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Omnicell, Inc., (NASDAQ: OMCL), today announced that California'sPomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC) has chosen to automate sterile compounding in their pharmacy operations with Omnicell IV solutions, part of the Company's industry-leading medication management automation platform. Leveraging Omnicell's robotic technology will help PVHMC to support patient safety, while reducing costs previously associated with outsourcing sterile compounding services. PVHMC plans to implement the robots in May, with compounding operations beginning later this year.

PVHMC joins many leading health systems who are adopting recommendations by The Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) for the implementation of automation and technology in sterile compounding.1 PVHMC is among the top 10% of all short-term acute care hospitals in the United States to receive the Healthgrades® Patient Safety Excellence Award.2 

The medical center will implement two i.v.STATIONTM non-hazardous compounding robots to drive improvements in their sterile compounding operation.
