Omnicell offers direct integration between our medication dispensing system and the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system to improve the way you manage medications.

Remote Medication Queuing
Allows clinicians to preselect medications, view availability, and document waste from the EHR - functions that previously needed to be done at the cabinet.
Closed Loop Dose Accountability
Automatically identifies variances between medications dispensed from the Omnicell® Automated Dispensing Cabinet and Anesthesia Workstation™ versus medications documented as administered and/or wasted, saving time for pharmacy and nursing.

Closed Loop Dose Accountability
The EHR integration automatically compares medications dispensed and/or wasted from the Omnicell cabinet or Anesthesia Workstation versus those documented as administered in the Epic EHR system, providing:
- Increased vigilance of controlled substance
- Reduced time spent tracking variances
The closed loop functionality automatically identifies outstanding waste for nursing and anesthesia providers.
Remote Medication Queuing
The EHR integration allows clinicians to perform many functions within the Epic system rather than at the automated dispensing cabinet. No separate Omnicell login is required, and the process for removing medications is streamlined.
From within the Epic EHR nurses can:
- Preselect medications to be removed from the Omnicell® Automated Dispensing Cabinet
- Check availability of medications in real time
